VISITORS TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

If you are visiting Curaçao and you test positive for COVID-19, either upon arrival in Curaçao or during the stay, you are obliged to stay in isolation for a minimum of 10 days. This can take place at your accommodation, with required safety and hygiene measures. It is important to inform staff members or your host accordingly, in order for them to take necessary measures to also protect other guests staying at the accommodation.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms during your stay in Curaçao, please contact a local physician for an appointment to do a COVID-19 test. The reception at your hotel or your local host can assist you with contact information. It is highly recommended to self quarantine while you wait for your test results.

Isolation means:

  • Staying home/inside, either at your hotel or accomodation
  • No physical contact whatsoever with other people
  • No visitors
  • You cannot go to work, school, shopping or the the pharmacy
  • Someone else has to do grocery shopping for you and drop it off at your door

What is allowed?

  • You may sit on the porch, your balcony or walk in your garden as long as you do this alone and it’s possible to maintain enough distance from other rooms/accommodations
  •  If you’re feeling well enough you may work from home or take classes remotely while remaining in isolation at your hotel/accommodation
  • Keep in contact with your loved ones through phone or video calling

If you feel ill during isolation or you need help/medication, please call a doctor immediately or request assistance from your accommodation.

THE USE OF A DIGITAL PROOF OF VACCINATION (DCC)

The Digital COVID Certificate (DCC for short) is the digital or paper proof that someone has been vaccinated against COVID-19. To apply for a Curaçao DCC, you must be fully vaccinated in Curaçao, meaning 14 days after your second vaccination. Only people who have been vaccinated locally are eligible for a DCC QR Code.

Curaçao has a DCC that is also accepted within the Dutch Kingdom and the European Union. The DCC is created in the form of a QR Code that is unique for each person. The DCC can be used locally when participating in a high-risk event or if you want to travel within the Kingdom and to a country within the European Union (EU). Before you travel, visit the Re-open EU website https://reopen.europa.eu/en to check whether you can use your Curaçao DCC locally. You can also use the EU DCC QR Code for events in the country you are traveling to. You must comply with the local rules for this.

It is mandatory to use the QR Code when participating in high risk events. Every participant will be registered at the entrance by scanning the QR Code and a valid identification.

You can apply for the DCC QR Code via www.curacaohealthapp.com.
